As reinforcement in textile composites, multi-layer woven fabrics have bright developing room, especially in industrial textiles field such as military industry, aviation and so on. According to the structure, they are usually divided into two kinds, one is multi-layer interfolding and binding wholly structure, the other is space structure. Present research experiment and producing show two kinds of them are all inclined to be woven with multi-picking because of the rationality and stability woven, improving product quality and production efficiency, and meeting the requirement of industrialization. But the first problem during the process of production is the weave expression and the design of the chain draft. Aiming at the trait of weave and structure of the multi-layer weave woven with multi-picking, after researching on the weave expression and design method of multi-layer weave woven with single-picking, the definition of warp position draft, weave expression and design method are all put forward in this paper, basing on inheriting the design idea of warp shedding draft.On the theory base of new design method of multi-layer weave, this paper set up the expressing system of multi-layer weave's warp position number. By the position connection between each warp yarn and each weft carrier, that is the warp position number of each warp yarn, it can gain warp position matrix. Then this paper set up warp position draft mathematic model, harness draft mathematic model and chain draft mathematic model. According to the connection among the three mathematic models, it can educe harness draft matrix and chain draft matrix. In order to complete the weave expression, the superficial weave matrix is also educed.Basis on the design method of multi-layer weave with multi-picking and the mathematic model of drafting arrangement, multi-layer weave with multi-picking CAD system has been developed through realizing computer of theory using computer program. This system has many characteristic, such as versatility, rational system structure, strong practical applicability, friendly interface, easy operation and so on.
