As reinforcement in composites, multi-layer woven fabric has bright developing room, especially in industrial textiles field such as military industry, aviation and so on. In the aspect of designing, using traditional method to design multi-layer woven is very complex and in defect of visual. Using longitudinal cutaway view to express variational multi-layer woven composites, warp yarn overlapping may appear. All of this can make illusion and mistake for designers. As a result, the development of variational multi-layer woven composites must be delayed. Aiming at the trait of multi-layer weave, after researching on multi-layer weave, the definition of even multi-layer and variational multi-layer weave is put forward in this paper, basing on whether the cross section of the multi-layer weave. To express multi-layer weave, warp arrangement plan is put forward.On the basis of predecessor, surface pattern draft, warp arrangement plan and longitudinal cutaway view are used to express even multi-layer weave structure more perfectly in this paper. How to express the looming draft of even multi-layer weave and the mathematic relationship among each draft are described in the paper in detail.Variational multi-layer weave is the emphasis of this paper. To express variational multi-layer weave, warp arrangement plan is also used. To digitize it, warp position matrix can not express warp arrangement plan clearly, because of the structure trait. For this, warp position matrix and layers matrix are used to express warp arrangement plan. Through the research of the relationship among warp arrangement plan, harness draft and chain draft, the mathematic relationship has been found and the relative mathematic model has been built. Some examples are given to explain the model amply.Basis on the weave structure of multi-layer woven and the mathematic model of looming draft, multi-layer weave CAD system based on Internet has been developed. This system has many characteristic, such as innovativeness, versatility, spanning spatiality, rational system structure, strong practical applicability, friendly interface, easy operation and so on. The structure, function and using process of this system are depicted in detail.
