With the development of green chemistry, synthesis of nontoxic and noncontaminative organometallic compounds has becoming a hot topic of organometallic chemistry. Zinc complexes have caused people's attention for their characteristics of nontoxic, noncontaminative and the important functions in the organic synthesis, polymer, biochemistry and new material science. Especially owing to the particular catalysis in copolymerization of epoxide and carbon dioxide and ring-opening polymerization of lactide, chemists attach great importance to zinc complexes. Hence, design and synthesis of new zinc complexes with high catalytic activity and selectivity are always the hot research topic for chemists.Cluster chemistry is a new rising research field. Cluster compounds have attracted researcher's much attention for their excellent catalytic activity, bioactivity, photoelectricity capability and superconduct. The details of this paper are listed as following:Chapter 1. The background of the research work was introduced. It is divided into three sections: (1) Synthesis, characterization and application of organometallic compounds with substituted pyridine ligand; (2) Progress of cluster chemistry, including the classification and application foreground of cluster; (3) Progress of ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of lactide, including synthesis and reaction mechanisms.Chapter 2. Some pyridyl ligands and the zinc complexes with N,O-bidentate were prepared from the parent compound 2-methylpyridine. The relevant complexes were synthesized and structurally characterized by NMR, elemental analysis and X-ray diffraction. Also, their catalytic activity were valued to catalytic the ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of lactide.Chapter 3. Some new heterotrimetallic clusters were prepared and structurally characterized by NMR, elemental analysis and X-ray diffraction. Chapter 4. Some bridged bisamino ligands and guanidine were synthesized and structurally characterized by NMR, elemental analysis. These compounds will be further used to react with ZnEt2 or AlMe3 to gain their organometallic complexes.
