Compact spinning is an important innovation of ring spinning. Compact spinning technology makes drafting, condensing and twisting separated through adopting condensing devices. And it can achieve to the effect of reducing twist triangle,increasing control of fiber in triangle, decreasing yarn hairiness,improving yarn break strength and yarn quality. Compact spinning reform localization becomes a focus in recent years.The key components of compact spinning reform, special pipe and lattice apron, were studied in this paper. And the effect on yarn performance was analyzed.The width of condensing notch has some effect on distribution of airflow field speed. Spinning experiment with different width of condensing notch and length of condensing field proved that they are some influence on yarn performance. The experiment results show that narrower condensing notch and longer condensing field can improve the hairiness and have little influence on the break strength and yarn evenness. Then, the location of special pipe was studied. Comparing the section structure of compact spinning device with traditional ring spinning frame section structure, the experiment results show that compact spinning devices can reduce the spinning stage length and increase guide angle, which be beneficial to twist transfer. However, it will generate the weak twist area and increase the spinning stage length. On the EJM128K-SM spinning frame being reformed, the location experiment is carried out with existing special pipe. The supporting pedestal was modified which will make the angleαchange between center line of special pipe and the line from front roller center to special pipe center. When the angleαequal 40°,45°,50°and other parameters keep constant, three kinds of yarn with different fineness was spun. Then, fuzzy decision was used to evaluate the comprehensive performance of the yarn. Results show the comprehensive performance is best when the angleαequal 50°.Lattice apron is another key component of compact spinning reform. The air permeability of lattice apron is studied in this paper. First, the function and performance requirement must be understood. Then, relationship between porosity and the diameter of yarn was deduced. According to the calculation formula of air permeability, the relationship between porosity and air permeability was deduced. And the relationship between static pressure and air velocity was obtained by using Bernoulli equation. Last, mesh number of lattice apron and air velocity was deduced. Then, the performance of home-made and imported lattice apron was compared. At last, spinning experiment was carried out with home-made lattice apron of different mesh number. The experiment results show that the comprehensive performance of yarn with fineness 21s and 32s is good when selecting the lattice with lower mesh number and that spinning yarn with 40s, 60s and 80s should select higher mesh number.
