Glass edging is finished by manual operation and mould grinding operation. The probability of this two method that get scraped products is high, it's difficult to product in batch. The developed glass grinding machine tools in our country move in two or more line axes. One polar coordinate glass grinding machine tools is introduced in this thesis, and some key control technologies of polar coordinate glass grinding machine tools has been studied in details. The work includes:Transitional ways of cutter compensation and the line and arc interpolation algorithm of polar coordinate glass grinding machine tools have been studied, the interpolation formula has been deduced.Based on the idea of improving the machining precision of glass profile, the eccentric error between the center of revolving axis and the center of abrasive wheel and following error of servo system of machining tools has been analyzed. Under precondition of equality of grinding the glass profile, the velocity limited formula related to constant linear velocity and limited velocity of machining tools has been deduced.In order to improve the efficiency of executing the NC programs, one method of compiling the NC programs have been proposed. Data structures and frames of NC object programs compiled are designed, and the executor of NC object programs has been developed.The general plan and functions of hardware system of the polar coordinate NC glass grinding machine tools has been introduced and analyzed. On the foundation of Huazhong NC system, one software system of polar coordinate NC glass grinding machine tools has been developed. For an example of machining the display screen glass of cameras, gets a general evaluation of the applying effect of some theories impacting on the polar coordinate NC glass grinding machine tools.
