Nitrite and nitrate are harmful to surface water and human bodies, so it's very important to detect them. Existing methods for nitrite and nitrate detection mostly have their weaknesses such as complications and expensive instrument, operate tedious and bad anti-interference. Gas-phase Molecular Absorption Spectrometry (GPMAS) have its advantage for good anti-interference, and spectrophotometry have simple equipments, operate easily and good anti-interference. Here we combined the detection method with GPMAS and spectrophotometry, and it's suited for grass-roots unit to detect trace concentration of nitrite and nitrate in the surface water body. The main contents are shown as follows.1.A novel method for the detection of nitrite and nitrate concentration in surface water was developed by GPMAS and spectrophotometry. Under chosen conditions, the detection limits(S/N=3) for nitrate was 0.0001mg/L,the linearity area was 5×10-7g/L~2×10-4g/L. Finally, the presented method was used for the analysis of surface water and contrasted with hydronium chromatogram.2.Detected nitrite contents in surface water with Gas-phase Molecular spectrophotometry method. Under chosen conditions, the detection limits(S/N=3) for nitrate was 0.0001mg/L,the linearity area was 5×10-7g/L~1×10-5g/L.3.Study on the change of concentration of nitrogen in surface waterbody with weather, discover that the concentration of nitrite rise and nitrate reduce obviously. The concentration of nitrate reduce and nitrite rise under continuous sunny days, so we can see that: the nitrite transforms into nitrate under the situation that have enough oxygen in the water.
