Nowadays ,the problem of indoor formaldehyde pollution is widespread because of interior decoration. Formaldehyde pollution is harmful to peoples'health, So peoples begin to pay more attention to the problem of indoor formaldehyde pollution. Major degradation manner consist of plant phyton, photo catalyst, activated carbon and titanium dioxide photocatalyst supported on fiber activated carbon, etc. At the same time, all these methods have their deficiency. For instance, the effect of degrade is not perfect, operation is complicated and the cost of operation is much more.In this dissertation we studied some research and discuss to degrade formaldehyde by urea peroxide. Both synthesis method and stabilization of urea peroxide were studied in this paper. Influence to the effect of mol ratio on active oxygen content, reaction temperature, reaction time, crystallization time, desiccation temperature were studied. Conditions of synthesis were found. Content of active oxygen can reach to 16.9%. At the same time the storage experiment at room temperature and thermal storage experiment were analyzed and discussed. Effectiveness of stabilizations and laboratory test method of urea peroxide stabilizations were researched. The urea peroxide was characterized by infrared spectrum and X-ray powder diffraction. Results show that the infra-red spectrum and X-ray powder diffraction of urea peroxide are well accordance with that reported in literature and the spectrum was analysed simply. The slow-release quality of urea peroxide and slow-release formulation were researched. At the same time. Some experiment were did to choose the slow-release formulation of urea peroxide and the dosage of formulation through researching the relation of the rate of speed release of active oxygen and release time. Then the slow-release effectiveness of urea peroxide was researched. The relation between the degradation rate of formaldehyde and the dosage of urea peroxide, the degradation temperature and degradation time was discussed when we use urea peroxide to degrade formaldehyde which was put in the hermetically sealed container and its concentration is 4.55 ug·mL-1. Then we find the appropriate reaction condition, under which condition degradation rate was 79.41% at that condition. The rationale of formaldehyde degrade was discussed. The method of urea peroxide degrading formaldehyde is feasible, which can degrade effectively indoor formaldehyde, and the degraded products are both CO2 and H2O. By the way, energy consumption of this method is lesser, the condition of reaction is moderation and the operation is simplificative. The method can be conveniently applied and extended.
