In this paper, PP is reinforced by nano-cerium oxide. The reunite of nano-cerium oxide has bad effect on the filature of PP, so kinds of dispersants are used to surface reinforced of nano-cerium oxide. The situation of dispersion is observed by TEM. The best condition is found:the dispersants are DSB/PEG(2000) and the ratio of dispersants/nano- CeO2 is 0.8% and 0.3%.Add the dispersive CeO2 to PP, use the reactor to blend homogeneously. Through different kinds of tests, the best condition is found: the content of nano- CeO2 in fibre is 1%. The breaking strength of modified PP fiber increase 31.49%,initial modulus increase 34.45%,absorption abilities to ultraviolet increased observably;and the mechanical property is improved clearly.The crystallization degree of orientation,grain size,crystallization rate of modified fiber is menstruated. The Mechanism of modification is analyzed.
