It is difficult to dye polyester with acid dye because of it's molecule structure. The method of preparing acid-dyestuff dyeable polyester were studied. The method is about nitric monomer copolymerizing with BHET, such as acyl modifier, amine modifier, nitric heterocyclic modifier and MMT. Optimal synthesizing technics, performance and esterification kinetics of the high rate of dye-uptake of some samples were also studied. The results showed that PA-6 decomposed by fatty acid is more effective. When the content of PA-6 is 10%, the rate of dye-uptake is 38.9%. 6-aminocaproic acid is the most effective in all of the amine modifier. When the content of 6-aminocaproic is 5%, the rate of dye-uptake is 23.8%. The highest rate of dye-uptake is 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidineethano and AEP modified polyester. When the content are 5.6%, 5.8%, the rate of dye-uptake is 39.8%, 44.5% respectively. The colour of n-aminoethyl poperazine (AEP) modified polyester are unsatisfactory. Montmoillonite-type clay (MMT) can improve the acid-dyestuff dyeability of polyester at some extent, but the rate of dye-uptake is low.The kinetics study results show that adding modifier makes the esterification quickly, and activation energy Ea decreases. The performance study results show that adding modifier makes the crystallization degree, Tm, Tmc decreases.
