Proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC) is a highly attractive power of transport and portable electric power source. It is not only pollution-free and high efficiency of energy transformation which are the features of common fuel cell, but also can start quickly, work at low temperature and have stable property.Pt/C catalyst is widely used for PEMFC nowadays. However, reformed gas,a kind of ideal hydrogen source, with trace CO has great impact on Pt/C catalyst efficiency.Introducing alternative metallic element could improve this problem, most of the research focus on Pt-Ru/C.In this paper,we use impregnation method to prepare Pt-Ru/C,and optimized its technical route. The influence to Pt-Ru/C physical and chemical properties was studied on the factors solvent, reducing agent, the treatment of support and the range of pH et al.The results showed that the Pt-Ru/C catalyst prepared by treating carbon support beforehand, glycol and water volume ratio at 1:1 as solvent,HCHO as reductant, impregnate pH was 2.5,reducing pH not lower than 9.5,manifested best performance such as higher metal load(more than 90%of theoretical value),smaller particle diameter, better dispersing degree and CO tolerance et al.Compared with Johnson Matthey Pt-Ru/C which stands for the leading level of the world.EDS showed both catalysts metal load reach the 90%of theoretical value, and the mol ratio of Pt-Ru approaches 1:1,TEM showed that the self-made catalyst have the same particle diameter with JM catalyst and better dispersivity.Cyclic voltammograms results showed that the two products have the same ORR and CO tolerance performance.
