With the development of the manufacturing industry, China has been one of the countries which have the most various types of machines. Since 1990s, with the introduction of PC technology NC system has a large development. This provides a new opportunity for the NC system to an open, modular, networking and intelligent direction of the development possible.Modularization is one of CNC system's develop-direction. Many function units of CNC system have their own controllers, processors and data process structures so they can process data of their own. It is imminence for these units adding to system with a new topo-structure. The appearance of fieldbus gives a feasibility of this change.This paper designs PC-based controller as the core of whole system, and used Profibus bus and SERCOS bus as the connect bridges of other function units. System of this structure can collect, monitor, up-load field signals efficiency. Upper-Monitoring network uses internet technology, database technology, three C/S framework of the internet model and achieves the following three features: Field monitoring layer: understand and master the machine running, correspondence with user'control strategy and set principal-axis power, torque, voltage, current, major parts of the dynamic signal dynamically. This layer can realize multi-parameter on-line monitoring and analysis. Monitoring-control-management layer: seeing to the whole system's monitoring and management. Tele-serves layer: reading all kinds of data; diagnosing internet connections; monitoring the operation of the client software failure. Diagnosis results will be returned to the client. At last data which upload from bottom network were stored in database server and realizes system-wide data sharing.This paper designs an open CNC system based on fieldbus technology, network technology, components technology and database technology.
