Dynamical coal blending is a practical technique, which aims at improving coal quality. It blends different kinds of coals together, so as to obtain an optimized product that is suitable for boiler equipments. Recently, the practice of burning coal blends show that, coals blended properly and scientifically could exert the special advantage from composition coals. Blending could be done after coal washing and sieving, at the same time additives such as sulfur fixing agent, combustion catalyst could be put in, so as to get a comprehensive effect.This article takes blending coal's slagging property as study subject, and the drop tube furnace as main experimental means, studied crystal components change and transformation process in the ash residue during coal combustion by the use of XRD,SEM and Energy Spectrums. In order to find the most efficient slagging contributor, we also studied micro-morphology of the ash residue.The article evaluated coal blend's slagging characteristic by three methods (relative weight of the ash residue, ash residue viscosity, ash fusion temperature), and made a comparison between them.It also studied de-slagging,sulfur fixing and catalytical combustion properties of two additives as well as their mechanisms through blending coal combustion experiment in drop tube furnace.
