Reclamation and reuse of aluminum and its alloys is of increasingly importance for the pressure of resource, ecological environments and economic sustainable development. Aluminum can be recycled indefinitely with only 5% of the energy consumption in each recycling, comparing to produce the primary metal from Al2O3. Therefore, the aluminum recycling technology has been studied extensively and intensive by many scholars. In this paper the technology of recycling secondary aluminum from mechanical processing domestic and abroad, such as sorting, melting, refining and so on, was carefully reviewed and researched.To the experimental raw material-Al chips, a series of pretreatment procedures such as removing the iron, sieving the sand, washing, drying, pressing to aluminum cake was carried out in this paper. So the iron filings, the sand and the greasy dirt in the aluminum chips have been removed effectively by above pretreatments. Meanwhile the oxidation melting loss was reduced, and the aluminum recovery rate was enhanced largely, too.In this paper, the effect of flux formula, flux adding amounts and melting temperature on recovery rate and impurity content was analyzed. The results showed that the optimized parameters of purification process for chips from casting Al alloys was combination of flux formula③, melting temperature of 720℃and flux adding amounts of 4%. Recovery rate was 90% and impurity content was 0.0531% in the combination. And obtains that the flux formula, the flux adding amounts have the remarkable influence on the purification of aluminum chips.The combination refining agent was also confected in this paper. We designed experiment of the non-toxic refining agent (adding amounts is 0.5~1.1%), the combination refining agent (adding amounts is 0.5~0.8%) refining the aluminum ingot of Al scraps. It was obtained that the refining effect and the adding amounts have the direct ratio for both refining agent; the formula⑥of the combination refining agent (adds amounts is 0.8%) have the best refining effect (hydrogen content is 0.1217 ml/100g after refining). Contrasting the refining effect of combination refining agent and that of the non-toxic refining agent, obtained that the combination fining agent was better than the non-toxic fining agent.
