In these recent decades, with the development of numerical control technology, the super high speed cutting technology has become one of the most popular subjects in the international mechanical manufacture. Nowadays high speed spindle is the key part of high-powered numerical machine tool.There is no unique standard to evaluate the performance of the high speed spindle. Standards vary in different companies. In this paper is under discussion in this environment of high-speed spindle testing methods and evaluation techniques.This project is supported by National Natural Science Funds (Item Number 50675233) and Chongqing Important Scientific and Technological Brainstorm Project (Item Number CSTC, 2006AA3010) . The research of measuring and testing the spindle turning precision, static stiffness and noise harvest the fruits as below.Get the method of testing the high speed spindle gyred precision. Through the diagrams we drew using the contact and non-contact testing method, it's clear that the disjunct testing method is better than the osculant one. According to the difference between the data that we got in the experiments using means of short checkout rod and twain indicators, we also find the one is more precise than the one.Get the method of testing the net rigidity of the high speed spindle. Through the data we got with static strain test equipment , research shows the radial rigidity is 2.2~2.7 times larger than the axial rigidity. At the same time we get the way to improve the net rigidity.Get the method of testing the noise of the high speed spindle. We drew the noise diagrams via different noise data tested under a series of revolution speed of the spindle using hemispherical testing method. We prove that the noise will increase with the increasing of revolution speed of the spindle.
