Synthesis Of Seperation Process For Ternary Heterogeneous Azeotropic Systems

Process Systems Engineering is a subject that solves the problem of chemical process resorting to theory and method of Systems, whose contents are mainly as follow: Process Simulation, Process Synthesis, Setting process parameter and Process Optimization. Process Synthesis is the core section, which is also main contents of this thesis. In this thesis, based on Residue Curve Maps (RCMs) theoretical, ternary heterogeneous azeotropic systems were chosen as research object. RCMs is a bridge of triangular phase diagrams and operating unit. Principle, experimental equipment, plotting method and thermodynamic property were generalized. Based on RCMs, lumped materials were partitioned; all feasible operation units were identified. Combined with the P-gragh theory, separation process of two ternary syst- ems were synthesized by two means which are Algorithmic Method and Heuristic Method.In this thesis, taking acetic acid-water-ethyl acetate system and acetonitrile-water -Acrylon system for instance, synthesized the separation process by different means: the Residue Curve Maps (RCMs) of the system were plotted; lumped materials were partitioned; all plausible operation units were identified. For the first system, the maximal structure was synthesized by improved MSG algorithm; all solution structures were synthesized by SSG algorithm; 9 feasible structures were residued by elimination; a super structure was synthesized on basis of 9 feasible structures; a mathematic model (MINLP) was established, which was the foundation of Process Optimization. For the other system, five feasible structures were directly synthesized by theoretical analysis and experience, the five feasible structures were compared according to operation fee and energy consumption.The results show that both means of process synthesis can obtain the satisfactory results.
