Application of friend-environment type carbon containing material CarboresP in Al2O3-C brick is researched. In the process of Al2O3-C brick, addition of CarbonesP in different samples is changed, after samples are treated in 180℃and 300℃respectively, they are fired with carbon buried and nitrogen treatment at 600℃×3h , 1000℃×3h , 1300℃×3h. Bulk density, apparent porosity, CCS, MOR, thermal shock resistance (1000℃air quench), HMOR(1400℃×0.5h, carbon buried), aperture distribution, microstructure change after treatment at high temperature(above 1000℃) with SEM and XRD, oxidation resistance of samples treated in different temperature are tested. Comparing result, we found that proper addition of CarboresP in Al2O3-C brick is 1%. Microstructure of combined carbon of Phenolic resin–CarboresP is analyzed, it shows that it is mixture structure of homogeneous carbon and heterogeneous graphitized carbon which can improve oxidation resistance of carbonization structure. From the result, we can see that characteristic length LCH of Al2O3-C brick with CarboresP is increased obviously, which shows that CarboresP has good toughness and ability of absorbing stress. Compared with Al2O3-C brick produced with traditional process, processability and all properties after heat treatment of Al2O3-C brick produced with phenolic resin-CarboresP process, we call it soft bonding, are improved.After addition of CarboresP is fixed, effect of carbon type and addition to properties of material are researched. Through sample comparison test, properties of fired Al2O3-C material with different carbon type and addition are observed, we can get such results, increasing content of graphite, thermal shock resistance of material is improved, while metal bonding and carbon bonding can not be formed very well. Adding of Carbon black is good to forming of metal bonding and carbon bonding, while thermal shock resistance of material is not good, in addition, oxidation resistance of material added graphite is better than that of material added carbon black.Binder is fixed, Mn with different quantity is added to make samples with metal additives of different mass ration of Mn and C, Mn, Si and Al. Comparing properties of samples, we can see when only one kind metal is added, properties of samples with mass ration 3% Mn are the best. Properties of samples with 2% Mn and 2% Si mixing additive are the best. Through analysis of microstructure, theory concluding of function of Mn for Carbon network process can be done.
