Hydrogen sulfide is a kind of toxic gas of irritating smell, it is extremely toxic to humans, and a small amount of hydrogen sulfide on the environment will cause great pollution and endanger human health, therefore, the problems of removal the low concentration of hydrogen sulfide from air is urgent to be solved. Activated carbon fiber (ACF) obtains a highly developed surface area and pore volume.Because of their rich and porous fiber distribution narrow, the easy absorption,the small resistance, so its desorption fast and it is conducive to adsorption separation and it is a good absorption material.Modified ACF as adsorbent is not only a effective way to remove low concentration H2S in gas, but also it's low cost, simple and high efficiency of desulfurization.The paper makes thorough study of modified ACF removal of low concentration of H2S in four respects, such as : the removal of low coneentration H2S by ACFs modified with chemical modification methods; the removal of Iow coneentration H2S by ACF smodified coniaining alkaline compounds; the removal of low coneentration H2S by ACFs modified with metals; the removal of low coneentration H2S by ACFs modified with metals; the regeneration methods for used modified ACF by removing low concentration H2S.Through the experimental study, the paper reached the following conclusions: (1) By the liquid-phase oxidation and gas-phase oxidation the capacity of ACF on the dynamic adsorption of H2S is increased. Changing the ACF surface polarity by Cl2, NH3, the dynamic adsorption capacity of H2S increases 47% and 64%. (2) Through alkaline substance modification of the ACF, when the raw gas is H2S/N2, K2CO3 modified ACF is of better performance. H2S has the largest rate to combine when in the raw gas mixes O2 can raise the performance of desulfurizatio .(3) when the adsorption temperature is around 673K, the transition metal ions modified ACF have higher desulfurization activity, the sulfur capacity of ACF is big which upto 50mg/g.In aerobic atmosphere, Cu2+ modified ACF by removing low concentration H2S has better efection which upto 40mg/g than in anaerobic atmosphere. (4) Air regeneration of the acid modified ACF has good renewable effection which the percentage was higher than 60%, and 473K was the appropriate reaction temperature; CO2 regeneration of the basic modified ACF has good effection and the ratio of regeneration was up to 80%, and 573K was the appropriate reaction temperature; Air regeneration of the metal modified ACF has good effection and the ratio was up to 96%, and 473K was the appropriate reaction temperature.
