Ceramics are used widely in many fields for its special and superior performances. The sintering process of ceramic, one of the critical factors to ceramic quality, is paid more and more attention.Firstly, the research of thermal theory in kiln hood and the application of the ceramic in industry is introduced. Then, sintering methods, sintering stages, sintering system and optimum sintering curves are presented and the reasons of the sintering flaws caused during the sintering process are analyzed, which are the theory basis of the establishment of the mathematic models and the simulation of the sintering process.In the second part, the temperature fields of the different firing curves are computed by the finite element software ANSYS, then the change of the temperature and temperature contrast of the body is studied during the heating, heat insulation and cooling processes. After the temperature and temperature distribution of the different curves of sintering bodies of unit area is analyzed the temperature laws are obtained. And then the existing problems in the current sintering curve are investigated to establish more reasonable and shortcut sintering curves.The temperature-stress coupling analysis is applied in both simple and complicated bodies with this sintering curve. The temperature and thermal stress distribution fields in the inner of the product under some sintering condition are studied, and the feasibility of the sintering curve is validated. All the work above provide theoretical basis for the optimization of the firing system.
