Electrodeposited Iron-Nickel alloy had wonderful performances in its mechanical intensity ,soft magnetic property, corrosion resistance and electrically characteristic, so it was widely used in industry field. With the development of technology, the alloy foil that can be peeled from the cathode was demanded in the high-tech scopes. The fluoroborate which can be used as a complexing agent made the electrolyte steady, also , we can use the electrolyte directly to dissolve the iron or nickel directly to complement the Fe2+and Ni2+.There were no organic compounds in the electrolyte ,except the additives.Based on the agvantages of above, in this paper, we use fluoroborate as a complexing agent in Iron-Nickel alloy electrolyte. The detailed research work was as follows:(1) The relationship between ferrous ion concentration, cathode rotating speed, pH value, temperature and current density with iron content of alloy foil and cathode current efficiency were investigated, and the optimum process conditions was established .Thus, it offered an feasibility for the continuous electrodeposition of invar alloy foil.(2) The structure and properties of the invar alloy foil electrodeposited from the fluoroborate baths was researched, such as the hardness, corrosion resistance, magnetic property and electrically characteristic. The results indicated that the alloy foil had a good performance.(3) The electrodepositon process of Iron-Nickel alloy was investigated by electrochemical techniques (polarization curve and EIS measurement). Combining with the experimental results and the literatures, the possible mechanisms of the FeNi alloy electrodeposition were proposed.
