At present Cr12MoV die steel insert which adoptive by motorcar mould factory is smithing roughcast, then it is machine-shaping mould. Thus when factory produce complex form insert mould, there is machining third or half stuff off. Wasting material, increasing man-hour, extending mould produce cycle, augmenting the mould cost greatly. Owing to these aspect reason, it is an important disquisition that trial-manufacture the new high-alloy casting cold-work die steel insert resemble Cr12MoV smithing die steel insert.It make use of uniformity design the high-alloy casting cold-work die steel insert element experimentation. And find out feasible component. Take four annealing, four quenching and four tempering, then analyse the samples'microstructure and mechanical properties. Find out the most rational heat treatment. Apply all of this result to trial-manufacture 5623 kg cast die steel insert, totaling 126 pieces. Assemble and machining two suit of draw die, after automotive manufacture factory preliminary tryout, and producing 9000 pieces of armor plate. There have good response from consumer.The experimental results showed that the feasible chemical constitution of new high-alloy casting cold-work die steel insert is C:1.35%, Si:0.50%, Mn:0.50%, Cr:11.00%, Mo:0.50%, V:0.80%, Nb:0.05% (wt%). The annealing technology scheme is cycle spheroidal annealing. The quenching technology scheme is gradual heating-up to 1110℃(heating-up speed below 50℃/h) thermal retardation 30 min, oil quench. It is adopted twice tempering technology scheme that heating-up temperature 520℃and thermal retardation 60 min. The high-alloy casting cold-work die steel insert's mechanical properties are close to Cr12MoV smithing die steel insert, and the microstructure of this insert is better than Cr12MoV smithing die steel insert. After heat treatment and machining there is no flaw or rupture. There is saving 30%~40% machining man-hour and 25%~35% stuff. The success of high-alloy casting cold-work die steel insert research will substitute Cr12MoV smithing die steel insert, and it will be used in manufacture automotive sheet covering die for draw or shear greater than 1.0 mm thick plate or high tensile steel plate. It has more society benefit and remarkable economy benefit and theoretics reference benefit than 7CrSiMnMoV has.
