The isothiazolone antibacterial agents were kinds of new disinfectants used widely with high efficiency.The isothiazolone derivatives had extensive application and research values in the oil field, paper making,oil refining,chemical plant,cosmetic,vacancy,feed etc.It was a very important target to obtain more compounds with better effect sterilization,lower doses,better compatibility and lower toxicity.But the isothiazolone derivatives were lack of affinity and had no covalent bond conjugate with fiber that brought on lower washing durability.So far,It was less applied in the textile industry.This research focused on improving the washing durabilities of fabric.The four reactive isothiazolone antibacterial agents were prepared with 2-n-octyl-isothiazolone,para-ester, ethanolamine,acrylamide and so on as raw materials through bromination,amination,disulfide, cyclization and hydroxylation reactions.The preparation processes were studied and got the optimum reaction condition.The melting points of the obtained compounds were tested.The structures of the compounds and intermediate products were initially characterized by IR spectra which illustrated the presence of main function groups of the four compounds and intermediate products.The mechanisms of the reactions between the cellulose fiber and the reactive antibacterial agents were discussed.The antibacterial finishing of cotton fabric with the four reactive antibacterial agents were researched separately and tested with Escherichia coli(ATCC 8099),Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 6538) and the mixed mildews of aspergillus flavus(ATCC 10836),aspergillus niger(ATCC 16404),chaetomium globosum(ATCC 6205) and trichoderma(ATTC 28020) using flat,bacteriostasis ring and shake flask methods.The four antibacterial agents were proved to be unleachable with qualitative antibacterial tests.Mildewproof and quantitative antibacterial tests showed that the mildewproof and antibacterial capabilities of the fabrics treated by antibacterial agents improved apparently,rising with the increases of the antibacterial agents' dosage.The mildewproof and antibacterial capabilities of 4-(p-(β-sulfate ethyl sulfone) phenyl) amino-2-n-octyl-isothiazolone were the best.The mildewproof level of the treated fabric to the mixed mildews could reach grade 0,when the amount of the emulsion was 5%(o.w.f).The antibacterial rates of the fabrics to Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were both over 99%.Wash-durability tests showed that all of the four antibacterial agents had excellent washing fastness.After 50 times standard laundering,the mildewproof level of the fabrics treated with 15%(o.w.f) 4-(p-(β-sulfate ethyl sulfone) phenyl) amino-2-n-octyl- isothiazolone and 12g/L 5-chlorine-2-hydroxymethyl- isothiazolone could maintain grade 1 to the mixed mildews and both of the treated fabrics had antibacterial rate over 95%to Escherichia coli.Furthermore,the influences of testing microbial strains and fabric structures to the antibacterial capabilities were insignificant,and the physical and mechanical properties of the fabrics before and after treated also changed little.The results showed that the cotton fabrics treated with the four compounds could all have excellent antibacterial capabilities and washing durabilities.
