Recently,control over the arrangement and shape of coordination complex has been a topic of considerable interest in inorganic chemistry,especially since the emergence of supramolecular chemistry in the late 1970s.It provides a key to future development of designed functional materals.Carboxyl,phenol-oxygen azido and amido groups,which are good versatile organic ligands can chelate as well as bridge metal ions to construct discrete and extended structures.Through careful choice of suitable ligands and metal ions,a wide variety of polymers and supramolecular complexes have been synthesized.They play an important role for the study of coordination complex property.In view of reasons above and from the standpoint of molecular design,we have designed and synthesized symmetrical and dissymmetrical Schiff base ligand,further forming mononuclear,polymers and supramolecular complexes.The main contents are described as following:一.The preface mainly introduced the synthesis,structure,characterization and properties of Schiff base and their complexes.二.The synthesis and characterization of novel Schiff base complexes containing dissymmetrical and symmetrical Schiffbase ligands were studied.(1).Employing template reaction prepared three new dissymmetrical Schiff base ligands N-3-carboxylsalicylidene-N'-5-Bromosalicylaldehyde-1,3-diaminopentane)(H3L1), N-5-Bromosalicylaldehyde-1,3-diaminopentane)(HL2) and H2L3(N-3-carboxylsalicylidene-1,2-diaminoethyl),which are also intermediates of Schiff base complexes and three complexes[CuL1]2(1),[NiL2]·H2O(2) and[Ni(HL3)2]·H2O(3) were synthesized from H3L1,HL2 and H2L3,respectively.Their crystal structures have been determinted by X-ray analysis.Magnetic susceptibility of measurements for(1) indicastes that the interaction between metal ions is antiferromagnetic. (2).We synthesized one symmetrical Schiff base ligand N-N'-bis[(3-carboxylsalicylidene)] -N"-(2-aminoethyl)-1,2-ethanediamine(H4L4).Using the ligand we have obtained the crystal structure of[CuMnL4]2[CuL5]2·2CH3OH(4).(H2L5= N-(3-carboxylsalicylidene) -N"-(2-aminoethyl)-1,2-ethanediamine,which possibly formed by decomposed H4L4) Its composition and structure were characterized by Elemental analysis,IR, UV-Vis spectra and X-ray.(3).We have prepared the flexible ligand N-N'-dis(3-carboxylsalicylidene)-1,3-diaminopropan -2-OH(H4L6),the compounds[CuH2L6]·H2O(5) and[Cu2L4]·2H2O(6) were synthesized from H4L6.Their composition and structure were characterized by Elemental analysis,IR,UV-Vis spectra and X-ray.(4).Using 2-aminoterephthalic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline as ligands,we obtained the complex[Cu2(μ-2-atp)(phen)4]·2ClO4(7)(2-apt=2-aminoterephthalic acid,phen= 1,10-phenanthroline),which was characterized by X-ray crystallography, spectroscopic and thermal analysis.(5).Using 2,2'-bipydrine as ligand,we obtained the complex {[Cu2(bpy)2(μ-OH)2]22Cl}·2Cl·6H2O(8)(bpy=2,2'-bipydrine).And the complex was studied by X-ray,elemental analysis IR spectra and magnetic properties.Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicastes that the interaction between metal ions is ferromagnetic.
