Preparation Of Nano-silver Antimicrobial And Application In Cotton Fabrics

The main purpose of this paper is to synthesize a compound antibacterial agent which has excellent antibacterial properties with polyethylene glycol(molecular weight 1000),silver nitrate and polyacylate emulsion.The fabric was finished with this compound antibacterial part to get fabrics which had antibacterial properties.And an antibacterial fabric was prepared through one bath of antibacterial finishing and dyeing.The antibacterial agent was produced by the redox reaction between silver nitrate and polyethylene glycol.After this reaction nano silver particle was prepared and the synthesized silver particle was added to polyacrylate emulsion to get the compound antibacterial part.The optimized technique was:the molecular weight of polyethylene glycol was 1000;the quality ratio of PEG/Ag was 1000:1;the redox reaction time of silver nitrate was 30min;the quality ratio of silver nitrate and polyacrylate emulsion was 1:700;the compound time of silver nitrate and polyacrylate emulsion was 50min and the temperature was 60℃.The cotton woven fabric was finished by the synthesized compound antibacterial agent through two times dipping and two times rolling.The effect on the antibacterial property of the amount of compound antibacterial agent,the pH of the finishing solvent and baking conditions was discussed and the antibacterial property and all the wearing property of the finished fabric were discussed.The result indicated that the optimized technics were:two times dipping and two times rolling,first dipping (20min)→first rolling(rolling ratio 80%)→second dipping(5min)→second rolling(rolling ratio 80%)→prebaking(90℃,120s)→baking(110℃,70s)。The amount of antibacterial agent was 4%(o.w.f.) And the bath ratio:1:20,pH 5.0.The prepared antibacterial agent was used in one bath of antibacterial finishing and dyeing of cotton woven fabric,the antibacterial fabric was prepared and the antibacterial properties were tested.
