Research On Antibacterial Underwear Finished With Chitosan-silver

All the research in this paper are using chitosan and silver as the basic material.The antibacterial effect of cotton fabric finished with chitosan-silver has been studied, and the wear property of it has been evaluated. On this basis, the prototype of women’s underwear is designed and implemented by using fabric finished with chitosan-silver, and the antimicrobial underpants were studied in evaluation method of wearing antibacterial effect and the actual effect.First of all, antibacterial agent in accordance with international standards was studied, the composition of antibacterial agent is:0.25% chitosan,1% citric acid and 10mg/kg silver nitrate. Through the investigation, a commercially available mature antibacterial finishing process was used which has been optimized. The finishing technology is:two dip two rolling (rolling rate is about 100%, dipping 5min),75℃ drying,140℃ baking for 5 min, then washing and drying. The goal of collaboration the two antibacterial component was achieved. Finally the cotton knitted fabric finished with chitosan-silver antibacterial finishing agent was obtained and can be used for wearing. By the antibacterial finishing, the antibacterial rate of finished fabrics can nearly reach 100% for escherichia coli and staphylococcus aureus. This study can extend the application range of biomass materials on textiles.And then, through the investigation of the changes caused by finishing, the air permeability, moisture permeability, hydrophilic, surface grinding, softness and skin irritation were studied. The effect of the basic properties of cotton fabric has been discussed. The study found that the air permeability, hydrophilica and stiffness were improved, moisture permeability and surface grinding did not change significantly. It also proved that the chitosan-silver finishing of the fabric has no stimulus to human skin under the existing standards. Which shows that chitosan-silver finishing can maintain the original fabric basic properties, and improved the health properties of fabric.Finally, the prototype of women’s underwear is designed and implemented, through market investigation, objective evaluation and comparative study, the wearing effect of the antibacterial underwear has been explored. In influence, it found that wearing can have a significant impact on antibacterial effect of underwear. By wearing underwear finished with chitosan-silver antibacterial agent of this paper and control the wear conditions, the antibacterial timeliness of wearing was studied. The results showed that antibacterial pants finished with chitosan-silver can be applied to the human body. And its antibacterial effects have a role to play through wearing. The antibacterial pants’ validity of antibacterial wearing is about two and a half months. Compared with the antibacterial fabrics without wearing, the antibacterial pants’ wearing period is shorter.
