In recent years, the reduction of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide emission has been a subject of global interest due to the well-known greenhouse effect and acid rain. Many counties including China are in search of reliable control and separation technologies for carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide. Activated carbon fiber becomes the hot topic of the world researchers because of its special physical structure and special adsorption performance. however, the influences of the pore width of materials, temperature and pressure on the adsorption capacity have not been well documented. The main purpose of this thesis is to experimentally determine the adsorption capacity of ACF in the separation of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide, and then analyze the adsorption behavior of the confined carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and their mixtures. To this end, we established a temperature and pressure swing installation filling up with the ACF. Using this set of installation, determined the temperature and pressure dependences of the adsorption capacity of ACF.
