Forging is a kind of plastic processing, it is the use of material plasticity, the role of external forces generated by plastic deformation, to obtain the necessary shape, size and performance of certain organizations paragraph pieces, the forming process is very complex. if forging process design unreasonable, usually result in some defects, such as crack, dissatisfied with the mold filling, split and so on. In the traditional process analysis and die design, mainly rely on analog engineering and design experience, through repeated trial-mode repair mode, adjust the process parameters, the elimination of these defects in the process of forming. In recent years, forging technology numerical simulation techniques has become a powerful tool to prevent defects and optimize technology to improve product quality. Finite element method is an effective numerical method used to simulate the process of forging and provides a theoretical guidance for the metal forming process and die design. This paper describes the various of spline forming process, summed up the characteristics of various processing methods, working accuracy and scope of application. On this basis, combination of micro-vehicle's the half axle spline the cold extrusion process, analysis of the stability of the axle pole, to calculate the guide length, blank diameter and rough squeeze pressure in the extrusion process of a number of key parameters, and to the guide length and rough guide to the size of simulation and optimization, to the half axle spline cold extrusion process for the technological parameter. Design the Die and Using software DEF0RM3D to simulate spline of the cold extrusion process, mastered regularity for change of the cold extrusion process, got die design and can direct the production practice.
