A Study On Key Points Of The Construction Of Semi-submersible Drilling Rig

As China and the world's population growth and the increasing depletion of the exploitation of land resources, offshore oil and gas resources has become important area for exploitation. In recent years, with the rising of international oil prices and the increasing trend of offshore drilling operation, resulting in shortage of offshore drilling rigs. It has entered another peak period of construction of offshore drilling rigs now. From design to construction, offshore drilling rig construction and ship construction has many of the same similarities, so some of the shipyards have become the builder of offshore rigs. As several major shipyards of our country had been awarded the contract of offshore rig construction in recent years, the other shipbuilding company are also in the pipeline with the construction of offshore rigs, and some other leading enterprises in the manufacturing sector has also recently poured into the construction industry of offshore rigs. Then, how is the current international situation of offshore rigs construction, and how is the development of offshore rigs construction in our country? What is the existed problem of development, How to solve these problems? In this paper, taking semi-submersible drilling rig as the example of offshore rigs, first of all introduce the current situation of drilling rigs built at home and abroad, as well as the system component of semi-submersible drilling rigs. Followed, focusing on an analysis of the development of offshore rig construction in our country at present and its existed problems. Based on what we learned from relevant experience of the shipyards in Singapore and Korea in the offshore rig construction industry, proposes the corresponding tactics to the exist problem in our country.
