The Al2O3-C material specimen by isostatic compaction from corundum and graphite materials with the addition of Ti,Al,Si,Al+Si powders were prepared in the flowing N2 atmosphere at 1350℃for 4 hours.The effects of Ti additionto the physical properties and oxidation resistance were studied,and the effect of Ti,Al,Si,Al+Si powders to the physical property and oxidation resistance were also compared.The results show that:1) The physical properties of Al2O3-C material were improved by adding Ti powders.The bulk density was raised and the apparent porosity decreased with the increasing addition of Ti powders below 7.5wt%.While the cold crushing strength and the modulus of rupture at room temperature become the highest at 5wt%of Ti powders.2) The oxidation resistance of Al2O3-C material was improved by adding Ti powders.The mass loss rate of the specimen and the thickness of decarbonized layer were put down with the increased addition of Ti powders.When the percengtage of Ti powders was less than 5,the drop rate of mass loss or thickness was about a constant; When the percengtage of Ti powders was greater than 5,the drop rate of mass loss or thickness was slowing.3) The physical properties and oxidation resistance of Al2O3-C material were improved by the addition of Ti,Al,Si,Al+Si powders respectively.At the same addition level(5wt%) of Ti,Al,Si,Al+Si powders,the effect of Ti powders on the physical properties of Al2O3-C materials was smaller than those of others,but the effect of it on the oxidation resistance of Al2O3-C material was only a little smaller than that of Al+Si powders.
