In comparison with Pd and Ni, Copper is a cheaper metal with lower-toxicity. So copper-catalyzed cross coupling, refer to Ullmann condensation, has received considerable attention in recent years. Especially, Cu-catalyzed C-N bond formation reactions such as the Ullmann cross couplings are playing increasingly important roles in modern organic synthesis. These cross coupling reactions are usually performed with 10-20 mol% of Cu catalyst along with ligands and bases. In this paper, we report a novel and effective orgnic base/CuCl catalytic system to accomplish the C-N cross coupling. (CH3)4N+OH- is used as an orgnic base. It is much more sovable than the traditional inorganic base in orgnic solvent. So the effect of using orgnic base in system is obviously more excellent than using inorganic base. When this orgnic base is used in our O,O-ligand/CuCl system, the yield is excellent(91%). And (CH3)4N+OH- is also adapt to many different reactants.
