With regard to demerits of traditional number control machine and parallel kinematics machine, and borrowing ideas from their merits, cascade structure was integrated with parallel structure into a new type. The new type was instituted Hybrid Structure Machine.For the machine, several degree of freedom parallel mechanism acted as a primary part in feeding movement, and two-way mobile platform is a auxiliary feeding mechanism. By means of forenamed methods, several coordinates machining is realizable. Firstly, kinematics of the machine was analyzed, subject investigated was the whole machine. By means of establishing five coordinate systems, the description of position and guise of the machine were expressed and spin matrix was determined. The length expression of drive link can be conducted when position and guise of mobile platform is random and restraint expression of usefulness space can be conducted too. By means of beeline coordinate system and angle coordinate system, matrix of speed transfer was expressed by Euler's formula.Based on structure type of the machine, design of parameter was researched for the parallel part. Method of describing workspace was given, to evaluate size of workspace, the size of maximal inscribed circle of boundary curve of workspace should be evaluate. When searching, the sphere was checked whether it was contained or not. Layer-by-Layer cutting method was adopted in the searching process. And restriction condition of effecting workspace was analyzed. Optimum design process of structural parameter was introduced. In the process of optimization, data were collected. It follows that structural parameter of optimum design was conducted.Firstly, relationship between driving force of drive link and deformation of drive link was analyzed. Secondly, mechanical equilibrium equation and matrix of exchanged force were conducted. It follows that matrix equation of stiffness was established. Relationship between stiffness of the machine and parts of the machine was analyzed. Based on matrix equation of stiffness, capability values of stiffness of the machine were conducted. By these capability values, capability of different structures was analyzed. Ideal structure was obtained.In 3D design of the machine, realizing method of 3D design of the machine was research based on SolidWorks software. The 3D design of the key parts of that machine was carried out such as platform, Hooke ream of platform, mobile platform, Hooke ream of mobile platform, drive link, working table and so on. In the assembly of the machine, dummy assemble was given on the key parts from the top down. Finally, interference verification was given the whole machine.
