PVDF content of hot-melt fluorocarbon coatings for buildings must not be less than 70 percent, but there is not a effective test method for the dry-film. Due to the lack of test method, the current domestic market of fluorocarbon coatings is very confusing, and no methods, standards would be difficult to standardize the products. Thermal analysis in the field of micro-analysis highlights the advantages, the author used differential scanning calorietry (DSC) and thermal analysis (TGA) in tests the PVDF content, form a more effective test methods.First of all, The qualitative test method using FT-IR for metal decoration coatings of buildings has been found in this paper, eliminate the interference of other coatings. And then studied the impact of pigment system, different acrylic resin and PVDF from different manufacturers to the test method of PVDF content which used DSC. Followed by studied the impact of different pigment systems to the test method of PVDF content which used TGA. Finally, the two testing methods are pointed out the accuracy and scope of application.
