The shearer's running posture and its position in the face is an important part for the status monitoring. By monitoring its working conditions, the changing trends of the measured signals can be extracrted, which can be used as the prediction and maintenance of the fault occurance. In recent years, the related institutions have made unremitting efforts on these issues but with little practical application,especially for monitoring the shearer's operation posture. Therefore it is inevitable to breakthrough the restrictions of the bottleneck.This paper is aimed at monitoring the shearer's running posture as well as the postion at the working face and designing the monitoring circuits which include three parts such as the collection,processing and transmission of the signals, and the overall work consist of the selection of the programme and the specific hardware design along with the optimization and debugging of the circuit in the later. In order to monitor the shearer's running posture, firstly with the ADXL series of accelration sensors to obtain the angles of inclination of the rocker arm and the two-dimensional perspectives of the shearer, which are the angles of the shearer along the working face and the advancing of the working face with respect to the horizontial plane. Secondly is the signal processing which includes: filtering the measured results of the acceleration sensor, analog-digital convertion, transformation of the angle through MCU. The ambient temperature is obtained by TMP05 which is used to the tempreture compensation for the initial measurements, so as to find the optimal caculation model of the acceleration sensor and reduce the errors caused by temperature drift, all of this can be auxiliarily completed by an static rolling experiment on the accelration sensor ,which is just the innovativeness of the paper and is different from the previous monitoring circuits. Finaly is the signal transmission that is using the RS485 bus to improve the anti-disrurbance capacity of the transmisson and for the convenience of man-computer interface. An multi-turn absolute encoder is used to measure the shearers's working face position by caculating the passed laps of the low-speed traction, then the position can be obtained on the basis of the known size which will be displayed through the encoder communication interface. In addition, the function of the monitoring circuits are optimized by debugging and emulating the software programme.The author of the paper highlights the monitoring circuit of the shearer's running posture and is committed to improve the reliability of the measured results and anti-disturbance capabilities so as to achieve the desired objectives.
