China is a big producer of metal wire products. However, as a result of domestic equipment and backward technology, the major forms of production of metal wire forming is the labor intensive in our country, that is, using a simple manual wire bending die, and some small semi-automatic forming equipment may be used. The costly intelligent metal wire products equipment was brought in from the developed countries. Therefore, carry out the develop of CNC wire bending machine has practical significance. Thesis based on the concept of Flexible Manufacturing, using the method of VC++ combined with OpenGL to develop the CNC wire bending machine geometric shape software. The main contents of this thesis are as follows:1) The thesis based on the concept of Flexible Manufacturing, introduced machine composition and partitions of the various functional modules of CNC wire bending machine in detail.2) By analyzing the mathematical model of bending wire, the thesis adopted a discrete method for mathematical modeling, accomplished the general bending, bending springs, conical springs, as well as planar spiral geometry mathematical modeling in the twe-dimensional plane and three-dimensional space.3) Through analysis and comparison, decided to use VC ++ combined with OpenGL as a software research technology platform, and designed user interface. Accomplished the develop of zoom, pan, rotate, reset, clear control modules and documentation's open and preservation functional module as well as keyboard input functional module.4) Abtained a model of simulation tool, and in accordance with the working principle of OpenGL animation, combined with set of discrete variable, completed the motion simulation of wire bending.
