Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have attracted considerable attention due to their unique mechanical and electrical properties. These properties find applications in a wide variety of electrical devices and materials especially in the field of functional composite material. The main goal of this research is to fabricate Co0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4 nano-particles modified CNTs andγ- (Fe, Ni) nano-particles modified CNTs, in order to improve the microwave absorbing performance of CNTs and broaden the absorbing wave band.An optimized functional parameter for the CNTs is obtained by a series of experimental. Then, the two composite nano-particles, Co0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4/CNTs andγ- (Fe, Ni) /CNTs, have been prepared with homogeneous nano-particles of Co0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4 andγ- (Fe, Ni) attaching to the surface of CNTs. Also, a detailed study has been carried out to investigate the effect of metals ions concentration on the distribution of nano-particles on the surface of CNTs. By the contrasting of absorbing properties of curves, in the case of unchanged with the absorption intensity, the absorbing wave band increased significantly, and improved the absorption performance of CNTs. Finally, the fabrication process ofγ- (Fe, Ni) /CNTs composite materials has been studied by experimental and theoretical analysis.
