A Study On Electroless Nickel Plating And Spent Bath Solution Treatments

Electroless nickel plating is widely used in manufacturing industry equipment in mechanic,chemical,electronic,aviation field etc..In this paper, we studied on electroless nickel plating metallizing technology of microwave ceramic and the regeneration technology of spent electroless nickel plating bath. We investigated on optimized electroless nickel plating formula and pre-treating technology, the electroless nickel plating technology we developed has successfully used in manufacturing microwave ceramic device.Regeneration of spent electroless nickel plating bath can decrease the drainage of waste water and save resources. We studies on the effects of four different operating conditions (current density, temperature, membrane, ) on ion perm selectivity to get the optimized technology condition; we treated the spent electroless nickel plating bath under this optimized condition, then we use the regenerated spent bath to do electroless nickel plating, finally we obtained 81 piece of test pieces, the life of regenerated spent bath has overruned twenty periods. Actually, the regenerated spent bath can be continue to use, and the speed of plating can keep at 13-15μm/h. So the new method we developed for treating spent electroless nickel plating bath has got distinct effect.Besides, by comparing with different measure methods, we got the optimized way to measure various ions. We developed the fmulaor of electroless nickel plating which has good stability. We also developed evaporation-cooling method to treat spent electroless nickel plating bath, this method doesn't need any chemical or special equipments, it only need a little power, and it doesn't lose any valuable bath component (nickel, hypophosphite). So, it is a very effective, economical and convenient regenerating treating method.
