With the development and popularization of computer aided engineering technology, the CAE analysis software is largely adopted by the mould manufacturing companies to enhance the product development efficiency. However, the geometric instruction function is weak when it comes to the domestic injection mould CAE analysis software, as well as the interface compatibility with the general 3-D CAD software; in addition, the mesh generation function of domestic injection molding CAE analysis software is weak too, so amendment on the deformation elements are made by the professional personnel. Therefore, it shows great practical significance to do the research on technologies of automatic finite element mesh generation for injection molding CAE.The research on technologies of automatic finite element mesh generation for injection molding CAE was introduced in the paper, in which a set of Boundary division algorithm was the key point. The main research work in the paper is included as follow:1. The model introduction and reestablishment based on the Standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data (STEP) was researched. The complete geometric and topological information of step model was extracted by Boundary Representation (B-Rep). A kind of advancing front method based on Delaunay triangulation method was researched. A kind of triangle mesh generation method in the 2-D parameter field was built, which is advancing front method based on Delaunary triangle method and through which triangle mesh generation in the 2-D parameter field was realized.2. A set of an improved parameter mapping method-multiple mapping based on mapping correction factor of curved surface curvature was researched and built, in which traditional parameter mapping process was corrected through using mapping correction factor based oncurved surface curvature. With this method, the mapping parameter will reflect the information of curved surface curvature.3. A set of Boundary division algorithm was researched and built. Nodes were inserted into 1-D parameter field of border curved line segment by boundary division algorithm, and mesh generation was conducted in multiple mapping 2-D parameter field of curvature in reflection curved surface through advancing front method, and then 3-D curved surface mesh was generated by using inverse mapping to get high quality finite element mesh.Finally, the effectiveness of the method is illustrated by example.
