Block Wa38 is in the north of south trap in Liaohe Central Convex Slope. The project layer is S3, which the oil bearing area is 3.1 km2 and the OOIP is 962×104t;the reservoir depth is -1290~-1490m, the oil density in 20℃is 0.987g/cm3,the degassed oil viscosity in surface is 12600mPa.s. The reservoir belongs to the huge massive block extra heavy oil reservoir. In 2003, six well groups steam flooding pilot test carried out and gain the certain results. But for the huge massive layer, the oil recovery is limited.Aim to the deep heavy oil reservoir, in order to realize the steam quality at the well bottom, steam injection is enlarged and the result is the injection production ratio 1.2 is difficult to get to. Hence, the ideal which harm the oil layer first by the oil well groups till the reservoir pressure declines to 2~4MPa and reservoir temperature is above 80℃and then perform the other 4 horizontal wells. Utilize the old well type and horizontal wells realize SAGD, and at the same time, the vertical well to assist to pump out liquid to realize the combination SAGD and steam flooding. Basis on the theory of SAGD and steam flooding, reservoir engineering and numerical simulation are used to optimize the well type, the operating parameters in situ. At last, 4 groups SAGD including 4 horizontal wells and 15 injectors were deployed and the predicted oil recovery can reach to 25%.In this paper, the major research includes the geological scrutiny of Block Wa 38, performance analysis and potential analysis, Basis on the theory of SAGD and steam flooding, reservoir engineering and numerical simulation are used to optimize the well type, the operating parameters in situ. At last, 4 groups SAGD including 4 horizontal wells and 15 injectors were deployed and the predicted oil recovery can reach to 25%. In this research, it provides a possible mode conversion and it is significant for the reservoir in the later CSS. It provides a reference for the same reservoir.
