With the mining dramatically deep into the earth, the problem of maintaining the surrounding rocks stability in swelling soft rock roadway is increasingly becoming the focus of expertise. To research the engineering mechanical properties for the deep soft rock roadway and to solve the support properly are the key points for the mining's development in depth and safety in production. Jinchuan Nickel Mine is the largest copper-nickel sulfide mineral in China. It has experienced strong tectonic movement. For the complication of the geological structure, high horizontal stress, rock failure and the lack of stability, the difficulty of rock mechanics and engineering stability has been recognized for the domestic and foreign counterparts. This thesis launched a series of research work aiming at solving the problem of soft rock roadway in the complex project environment in Jinchuan mine.First of all, the investigation should be carried out to analyze the complex geological environment in Jinchuan mine. The rock samples were selected in-site and then made into the rock models to measure their physical and mechanical properties. After the analysis, the rock mechanics parameters can be confirmed and applied into the support practice of the Jinchuan soft rock roadway. In addition to the partial lean ore, the en-block rock strength is higher. But the rock will be softened encountering with water, which results in the expansion of internal stress and the intensity decline. In supporting projects, this should be paid special attention to.At the same time, the displacement deformation of soft rock roadway was monitored precisely in-site, the results of which were recorded. Records showed that the deformation of surrounding rock in Jinchuan soft rock roadway was large and long in duration. The change of mine floor distending was not obvious in the observation time. But according to the actual conditions in the mining area, side fall and mine floor distending are the main performance forms of the mine roadway damage from a long-term point of view.Finally, the parameters of roadway support can be gained through the calculation and empirical formula. The anchorage parameters were optimized and four improved supporting methods came up. Using the software to simulate, these supporting methods were compared and the optimal decisions were found theoretically. Then comparing the result of numerical simulation with the actual displacement deformation of roadway, the support method which accorded with facts of mine roadway was ultimately got.After the research on engineering mechanical properties of soft rock and anchoring supporting in Jinchuan, the paper concluded that the problems of rock mechanics and engineering stability were the low rock intensity, failure of rock mass, insufficient support intensity and insufficient treasure to floor plate. Through optimizing the anchorage parameters, the intensity of rock bolt enhanced. And a better result has been achieved in ensuring the stability of roadway.
