With the continuous advancement of technology and the extensive application of new materials and new process, higher requirements for railway vehicle manufacturing material performance is put forward. At present, ferrite stainless steel as corrosion resistant car materials occupy more and more important position and its good performance and economic price gets increasedly concerned . Therefore, development economic ferrite stainless steel passenger railway and urban rail transport vehicles has great practical significance for catching up with the advanced foreign vehicle manufacturers and enhancing our competitiveness.In this paper, the main contents are as follows: while heat input in range of 8.5 ~14.5 KJ/cm,by using ER-308L welding wire jointing 1.4003 uniform materials,1.4003 and 0Cr18Ni9,by using ER-309 welding wire jointing 1.4003 and 09CuPCrNi-A,1.4003 and Q235-C, mechanical properties of four kinds of welding joints are investigated by tensile test, bending test, impact test and Vickers hardness test. The microstructures and fracture morphologies were observed and analysed.The results shows that 1.4003 welding joint and 1.4003+0Cr18Ni9 welding joint welded by ER-308L, 1.4003+09CuPCrNi-A welding joint,1.4003 and Q235-C welding joint welded by ER-309 all have preferably austenitie and little ferritie biphase organize in welded seam. But HAZ on 1.4003 side has unity coarsening ferritic grain. 1.4003+09CuPCrNi-A welding joint,1.4003 and Q235-C welding joint appear obvious passage beds on perlite base metal bond line. Four kinds of welding joints all have high tensile strength and better bending performance. Four kinds of welding joints all have good low-temperature impact toughness except HAZ on 1.4003 side. HAZ on 1.4003 side has bad impact properties which become lower as test temperature lower.,so it becomes the weakest link in welded joints.Welding ferrite stainless steel 1.4003 should strictly control the heat input to avoid overheating zone appearing large ferrite grain.
