Carboxymethyl-β-cyclodextrinas(CMCD) intercalated layered double hydroxides(LDHs) powder and film materials have been synthesized by the use of ion-exchange and in situ crystallization technique, respectively. The selective adsorption of nucleosides(adenosine and guanosine) and DL-tryptophane by CMCD-LDH film has been studied in detail.Furthermore, the inclusion and release behavior of 5-fluorouracil(5-FU) by CMCD-LDH powder were investigated, demonstrating the molecular container properties of CMCD-LDH material. The film of carboxymethyl-β-cyclodextrin-intercalated Zn-Al layered double hydroxide(CMCD-LDH) has been prepared by in situ crystallization on a porous anodic alumina/aluminum(PAO/Al) substrate. This film can be used to selectively adsorb biological molecule.Furthermore, the plane sheet diffusion model was successfully validated in this work. Moreover, 5-FU-CMCD-LDH was fabricated by two methods:the intercalation-inclusion method and the inclusion-intercalation method. The controlled release study demonstrates that this drug/CMCD-LDH can be used in an effective drug release system. It was found that the combined confinement effect of both the LDHs layers and cyclodextrin cavity plays an important part in the release process.
