Oxidation Of Alcohols Catalyzed By Ru-complex And New Methods For Synthesis Of Weinreb Amides

The thesis consists of two chapers as followings:Chapterâ… : Oxidation of alcohols to aldehyde and carboxylic acid catalyzed by Ru-complexThe oxidation of alcohols catalyzed by transition metal complex in homogenous and heterogeneous condition was reviewed. Effectiveness of different catalysts such as ruthenium,palladium,iron,copper(â… ),cobalt,vanadium,osmium,chromium,multiple-metal,other transition metal were compared. Then a new Ru catalyst was prepared, and its catalytic oxidation for 8 kinds of alcohol using 30%H₂O₂ was studied. The results show that the aromatic alcohol can be oxidized, and the aliphatic alcohol can not be oxidized.Chapterâ…¡: New method for synthesis of Weinreb amidesThe synthetic methods of weinreb amides was reviewed firstly, and a new method for synthesis of weinreb amides was disclosed. Carboxylic acids can react with N-methyl-N-methoxylamine directly in the presence of NBS and PPh3 to give the corresponding weinreb amides. 19 weinreb amide have been obtained, and their structure were confirmed by IR,¹HNMR,¹³CNMR and MS. The possible reaction mechanism was proposed on the basis of literature.The method has the advantage of short reaction time, low-cost raw materials and active agents, simple post-processing.
