Efficient operation of modern gas turbines results in turbine inlet temperature that is significantly higher than the maximum allowed by the blade material. Therefore, appropriate cooling techniques are required to cool the blade and achieve the target life. The rib-turbulators cooling passages are appearing in the cooling channel of turbine blades, which can achieve efficient cooling of the blades. The spiral hole is one of their forms, can significantly improve the cooling efficiency of blades. In this article, a new technology is advanced to processing micro-spiral cooling hole by electro-chemical machining (ECM) using of shaped electrode. The main tasks and achievements are presented as follows:1. The experimental equipment of ECM for micro-spiral hole was developed .2. The spiral electrode was prepared by using ultraviolet mask. And theoretical analysis and experimental verification were done for the disabled electrode, thus improving the production process.3. Through CFD software—FLUENT, the numerical value analysis was carried on for ECM flow field. The different flow field configurations are constructed through changing the thickness of electrode's insulating layer. At last the results were verified by experimentations.4. The spiral holes are processed by ECM experimentations. The effects of processing stability and efficiency influenced by process parameters in ECM for spiral holes were obtained by ECM experimentations. So as to obtain more appropriate parameters in ECM for spiral holes.
