The effective component of polyalkylbenzene sulfonates and petroleum sulfonates which were most used to enhance oil recovery are aromatics sulfonates and heavy aromatics sulfonates, both of which can pollute the environment. Moreover, they must be used with alki, polymer and other assistant surfactantes together to get the ultralow interfacial tension in different blocks of oil recovery. The primary object of this dissertation is to design and synthesize some novel nonaromatic sulfonants which can be used in enhance oil recovery. The novel sulfonants must be environment-friendly and can be bi-degraded.Naphthenic petroleum sulfonantes were synthesized with naphthenic oil as feed stock oil and oleum as sulfonated agents by the method of orthogonal design of experiment. The interfacial properties of these products when be used in the oil-water system of T1, T4, T6, Sheng2-0 and other oil recovery blocks of Shengli oilfield were investigated by measuring the interfacial tension. It is shown that the products have excellent capacities and efficiencies of lower the interfacial tension of oil-water of block 1. and block 2. in Shengli oilfield to ultralow without alkaline or any other additives, and have good compatibility with Ca2+ and Mg2+. The interface tension between crude oil and water could be cut down to 10-3 mN/m or 10-4 mN/m.The structural characteristics of the naphthenic petroleum sulfonantes were studied by FT-IR. The results showed that the sulfonates were mainly saturated carbon chain and circle structure, which is more biodegradabale than aromatics. The synergies between the naphthenic petroleum sulfonantes which with different polarity and different molecular weight were also studied. It indicated that the molecular weight distribution of the oil displacement agent and the structure of carbon chain of the sulfonate molecule would influence the interfacial activities and universal activities of the oil displacement agent.
