Styrene epoxide is a kind of fine chemical material and is used as thinner of epoxide resin, spicery, uv-absorbent and steady material. And it is a very important chemical middle material in the fields of organic reaction, medicine industry, spicery industry and so on. Styrene epoxide is produced by halogenate-alcohol method with styrene in industry, which consume a mass of substances and energy, and pollution is graveness. So the method is must improved. But a method of epoxidation is environal friendly green process with H2O2 on titanium silicon molecular sieve.A study concerning styrene oxidation for styrene epoxide with H2O2 was performed. Effects of different molecular sieve over Ti-containing, different solvent and different additive were studied systematically. Catalyst TS-1, solvent acetone and additive urea with H2O2 epoxidation styrene for styrene epoxide is optimal reaction conditions, and the conversion of styrene was over 11%, the selectivity to styrene epoxide was over 67%.Effects of mole ratio of urea to H2O2, mole ratio of styrene to H2O2, TS-1 dosage, acetone volume , reaction temperature and reaction time with H2O2 and urea on TS-1 were studied. Under reaction conditions: 25mmol styrene, mole ratio of urea to H2O2 0.5, mole ratio of styrene to H2O2 3, 0.1g TS-1, 10ml acetone, reaction temperature 60℃and reaction time 10h, the conversion of styrene was 11.85%, the selectivity to styrene epoxide was 67.16%, the utility of H2O2 was 83.47%.And a study concerning styrene oxidation for styrene epoxide by the characterization of TS-1 modified by hydrothermal treatment, silylated treatment and organic bases treatment. Catalytic activity by the characterization of TS-1 is higher than that of pure TS-1. The best characterization of TS-1 is by 0.15mol butylamine to treatment TS-1, and the conversion of styrene was 28.92%, the selectivity to styrene epoxide was 77.59%, the utility of H2O2 was 96.98%.
