Honggang field, Jilin, has entered into the super-high water-cut stage with over 30 years development. It is difficult to keep the production stable by depending on the conventional stimulation treatment. It carried out the chemical flooding pilot field test from 1997 to 2002. The experiment obtained good effect, but it met some technology challenges, such as unable reached ultra-low interfacial tension, high alkaline concentration, serious emulsification and encrustation of production well. According to the geological conditions of Honggang field, this paper carried out the surfactant-polymer flooding formula study. Contrasted with the performance of different kinds of surfactants in the lab, a new surfactant-polymer flooding formula without alkaline, in which petroleum sulfonate J6 was the surfactant, was developed. The formula including 0.3% J6, 0.15% polymer, was able to reach ultra-low interfacial tension under the lab condition. It also had other advantages, such as high viscosity (20 mPa?s), low adsorption of surfactant(10-3mN/m), strong anti-aging performance, and high recovery (EOR could reach to 20% in the lab). Since 2007 the formula has been tested in 5 well groups of the 3-07 blocks and the performance is good. The peak production of central wells increased to 2.5 times, the water cut declined by 6%, and it is predicted that the EOR was 14.8%. So the preliminary adaptation of the formula has been proved. And it also showed the potential of large-scale applications in Honggang field.
