By the development of ultra deep wells,containing-gas wells and thermal production wells,the conditions of oil exploitation has beening worse,the API standard casing connection can't satisfy the need of oil exploitation completely,the research insititution and manufacturer develop the research on the premium casing connections. The study includes two main problems: one is about tensile strength of connections, that is, how to improve the sustainability of casing connections; the other is about sealing property of connections, that is, how to develop the reliability of the seal .This paper presents the performance simulation of two-step casing connections and variable pitch casing connections using ANSYS.The finite element model of casing connections is founded to analyze the force on the casing threads by using the contact analytical model,at last,the force changing rule of the casing connections is summarized,and compared by the normal casing connections.It is more clear understanding about the stress distribution at the casing connections from the results presented and thus it can be taken as references in improving the design of casing thread so as to improving the quality and working life of the casing connections.Most of the finite element simulation of casing connections ues plane model which is different from the practical model.This paper try to analyze the casing connections with solid model and find the force changing rule of casing threads on the real model.It will compare by the results of the plane model and supply a new idea of the premium casing connection's research.
