Identify And Analysis On Orgnic Matters For Sediments In Southern Branch Of Gan River

Persistent organic Pollutants (POPs) are harmful to the ecology and human health because of the characteristics of its long-term remains, its organic save- up and its high toxieity, so this problem has aroused concern widely.On the basis of collecting and reading a lot of materials , we discuss in this article the development and harm of trace organic pollutants, find the experimental methods to study trace organic pollutants in practice, use ultrasonic extraction, concentrated with nitrogen and GC-MS technique to test the trace organic pollutants in thesediment of the river , make some studies, so that we can see the presen tsituation of the pollution in the sediment of the river, and in this way we can further get basie data of the move, change and tendency of pollutants in thisenvironment.Conclusions from the experiments are as follows:(1) The sampling point which is closest to Nanchang has been polluted by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and the main species are naphthalene fluorene.(2) Twenty-one different kind of organic matters were found in the sediment of southern branch of Gan river. Most of these are toxic organic compounds. Between these, seven belong to priority of organic pollutants by China.six belong to priority of organic pollutants by EPA.(3) Thirty-seven different kind of organic matters were found in the sediment of the convergence of three rivers. Most of these are toxic organic compounds. Between these , five belong to priority of organic pollutants by China. seven belong to priority of organic pollutants by EPA.(4) The type of organic matter in the convergence of three rivers is much more than in the southern branch of Gan river. It shows that FU river and Western branch of xin river also contribute to the organic pollutants of the sedment in the convergence of three rivers(5) The organic matters in the sediment of the southern branch of Gan river and in the convergence of three rivers associated with a significant positive correlation. It prove that these types of organic matters in the sediment of the convergence of three rivers most from the southern branch of Gan river(6) The sample from the convergence of three rivers were detected inorganic acid esters, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, heterocyclic, sulfur and olefin-type organic category, and these weren't detected in the sample of southern branch of Gan river , this shows that these substances are from FU river and Western branch of xin river.
