In the autobody panel stamping forming process, the rule of blank deforming is complicated and difficult to be analyzed because of the complex autobody panel structure and exigent precision and surface quality and various forming parameters afecting the stamping forming process of autobody panel. Compared with other parts of the automobile, the panels, especially autobody panels change most frequently and their market time are shortest. With the development of the automobile industry, the springback defect of the formed autobody panel becomes more and more intractable, it has much important realistic meaning to improve the accuracy of manufacture, reduce the cost of die and shorten the time cycle of die development.Consequently, the prediction and control of the springback become one of the hotest and most difficult subjects in autobody panel manufacturing.In this paper, based on large amount of literature and practice, assisted by the CAD software Pro/E, carrying on simulation experimental design by orthogonal design and uniform design technology, adopting the CAE software Dynaform, research on numerical simulation for springback of a automobile roof panel was done.The main research work and conclusions were as follows:Firstly the preliminary analysis of the part forming feasibility based on the reverse algorithms was carried out.Secondly considering the part forming feasibility and springback, die clearance of the covering panel should neither be too small nor be too large, while, there is an optimum value.Thirdly, the friction factor has great influence on panel's springback. In the paper, by analyzing the springback results, the gradation of the three frictionfactors' influence on the roof's stamping formability and springback was confirmed.Fourthly, a new way for optimization design of drawbeads was gained.Refers to the similar parts, the preliminary plan of the drawbead was determined based on a lot of tests. Simulation experimental design was carried out by uniform design technology.Fifthly, The simulation analysis of the springback compensation was performed based on the springback compensation module of the CAE software Dynaform. It showed that in the first springback compensation simulation test the effect was not obvious, however, the result was ignificantly improved in second test.All above provided theoretical base for establishing stamping craft of automobile panel.
