This paper select surface of welding wire which ties up with feedability as object, advance the criterion about feedability of welding-wire, then analysis surface of welding-wire parameter which is depicted by LD/LT and KY and estimate practically feedability to testing its applicability. The effect of current pulses in wire drawn has also been discussed. From introduction of current pulses on conventional oil lubricated wire-drawing process, the plasticity of materials are improved which is just the nature of so-called "Electroplastic Effect". So the surface quality can be optimized for the purpose of improving its feedability.With the analysis of experimentation, it is found that the criterion can be listed as welding wire has good feedability when LD/LT ranging from 0.50 to 0.88 and KY less than 30%, while LD/LT ranging from 0.50 to 0.88 and KY bigger than 40% its feedability worsen. Its applicability can be validated by feedability experiment and surface analysis of wires. Compared to conventional wire-drawing process, electroplastic wire-drawing process can improve the wire surface obviously. LD/LT of wire drawn with electroplastic wire-drawing process increase about 0.07, KY reduces from 40% to 15%. So we drew the conclusions electroplastic wire-drawing process can satisfy the purpose of improving its feedability.
