Praseodymium-doped potassium yttrium tungstate crystal(Pr:KY(WO4)2, abbreviated Pr:KYW) and Europium-doped potassium yttrium tungstate crystal (Eu:KYWO4)2,abbreviated Eu:KYW) are two kinds of new solid laser materials which are apt to LD pump.In this paper,Pr:KYW and Eu:KYW crystal grown by Kyropoulos method,using K2W2O7 as flux.the properties of Pr:KYW and Eu:KYW crystal were researched based on the study of the choice of the growing method the raw material pre-processing the growth technology and the annealing technology.The structure of the crystal was assured by X-ray diffraction,the constant of the structure is a=10.56(?),b=10.27(?),c=7.49(?),β'=93.24°and a=10.69(?),b=10.25(?),c=6.99(?),β'=92.15°.The IR spectra and Raman spectra were also be assigned.The absorption spectra and the fluorescence spectrum of Yb:KYW were measured.And the absorption cross section and emission crosssection were calculated.
